
SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
Promoting Self-Sufficiency & Reducing Poverty in Wilkes County
As part of our new campaign platform, Promoting Self-Sufficiency and Reducing Poverty in Wilkes County, United Way of Wilkes County is proud to offer scholarships to Wilkes Community College students for the 2025–2026 academic year.
This scholarship is designed to support adult learners who are working to gain skills, credentials, and education that lead to stable employment and long-term financial independence.
Scholarship Eligibility
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Age 20 or older (Adult Learner)
- Resident of Wilkes County
- Demonstrated financial need
- Enrolled in an Applied Career Technologies or Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree program at Wilkes Community College
Scholarship Awards
- $1,000 for students enrolled in AAS degree programs
- $500 for students enrolled in certificate or diploma programs
